Intellectual Property Strategy Session
This event is an Intellectual Property (IP) Strategy Session led by Jared Sues, a dual-qualified Patent Agent (US and Canada) and IP Strategist from Oziel Law. It is tailored for entrepreneurs, startups, and innovators, and aims to provide a practical overview of intellectual property—covering patents, trademarks, copyrights, and collaborative agreements like employment contracts and MOUs. Jared, who has both legal and engineering expertise, will explain how to protect technical ideas across different fields, drawing on his real-world experience in industries such as aerospace and software.
The session features a 20–30 minute presentation followed by an open Q&A, allowing attendees to get advice specific to their ventures. Participants will learn about different types of IP, how to align IP protection with business strategy, and best practices for safeguarding ownership in collaborative projects. The workshop is designed to help founders use IP not just as a legal safeguard, but as a strategic asset and competitive advantage for future growth. Attendees will leave with actionable insights on identifying relevant IP, protecting it from the outset, and leveraging it to strengthen their business position.
